VET4WOMEN (Vocational Education & Entrepreneurship Training for Women) is a project which focuses on young women leadership, capacity building and economic empowerment.

Objectives:

  • Provide, every three months, life skills and vocational leadership training to at least 50 young women in Ogun who are economically disadvantaged including sex workers and those who have dropped out of school due to poverty and child marriage.
  • Help young women to be financially inclusive through Vocational Skills, business support; Micro credits, financial management skills and access to the formal bank account.
  • Help female sex workers and survivors of sexual violence infected with HIV overcome self-stigma acquire life skills that will empower them economically.

In order to improve the quality of life of our target population we have define the activities through a comprehensive holistic approach.  This activities have been carried out in our Girls Empowerment Hub, Dalemo.

  • Woman2Woman sessions
  • Adult Literacy classes.
  • Leadership coaching

Impact

The project has trained, so far, more than 2,500 women including sex workers and women with special needs. Additionally, we have organized 6 women capacity building/ Leadership and Woman2Woman sessions for more than 100 women and girls in Lagos and Ogun Counties.
